When we got home from Brunch yesterday - Happy 19th Birthday to my niece Alissa - we just vegged out. After a couple of hours we shook off the cobwebs and went out to work. I was going to do some yard clean up but it looked like rain so I moved on to the garage. Elizabeth wanted to help and did a great job sweeping. Ella helped a little too but then made a homemade fishing pool with twine and a big stick. From there Elizabeth wanted to be done helping and the rain held off. The girls decided to make fish and salad for pretend. They pulled leaves from the old lilac tree as well as the little flowers on the bushes and mixed them all together. It was very good. :-) Elizabeth was a little surprised when I told her my friends and I did the same thing when we were young and even used the same lilac bush.
Its such a blessing to continue creating memories in the home I grew up in even if the house is too much for me to handle some days.
We used to make salads for our husbands... they were The Monkees usually. There is a new show on Disney that reminds me alot of the old Monkees show - The Jonas Brothers. During Elizabeth's Veg Out Time today she was watching The Jonas Brothers - So there are many ways Elizabeth is just like me. :-)
