We did slow down but life didn't stop. :-)
Last week we had overlapping events on Thursday. Ella had Kindergarten Roundup and Elizabeth had a gymnastics's showcase - same night, same time. Thank you Reenie and Cindy for being there for Elizabeth and the video you guys shot was great. I am always impressed by Elizabeth's gymnastic ability but was even more impressed by her team work. There were some awards at the end and Elizabeth was clapping and smiling for the handful that got awards. Excellent job Elizabeth! Being a good teammate is important too.
Ella and I went to Yinghua and the theme was Cowboys. It was great walking in and Betsy (principle type person) was very excited to see Ella and told her she was happy that Ella was going to be at school in the fall. We went to a few rooms where Ella could learn some Chinese characters and then to the cafeteria for treats and the school song. We also got to meet new friends and visited with some old ones. After it was done we met up with Reenie, Cindy and Elizabeth at the DQ.
Ella is supposed to be learning a character here but I think she was telling Elizabeth's old teacher (1st Grade) something about a stomach book she just looked at. :-)
Ella took this picture of the frozen apple juice she had as part of her snack.
Can't wait for Kindergarten with her big sister at the new school!
We just hung around home the long weekend. My lawnmower broke but Cindy fixed it. I caught a cold on Thursday so any free time I had was spent napping. I took the girls to a fun park nicknamed Chutes and Ladders but I forgot to bring the camera. We were there a couple of hours. They played and I sat. On the way out of the park, we saw a deer. On Sunday we took Dad to church and rested some more. On Monday we hosted a Memorial Day BBQ at our house for the SAMS (Single Adoptive Moms group). We took out the pool and all the girls all had fun.
Elizabeth and Ella tested out the pool on Saturday and it passed!
Thank you Julie for this great picture! Flynn and Genevieve were enjoying Elizabeth's skills. :-)
