Summer is done. :-)

Not Really ... but school starts tomorrow for Elizabeth.  I wonder if she will spend the day at school though with the forecasted high temps.  But really - what was the Mpls School District thinking.  It's too soon for school.  I think I'll bring a couple of fans for her school room tomorrow.

The back to school night went well for the girls.  We brought the school supplies and met teachers and ran into old and new friends.   Ella is very excited to start and Elizabeth is nervous.  She had a hard time falling asleep tonight because of nerves.  Luckily I can be a little late for work tomorrow and will be walking Itty in.  And with the fans I'll need to anyway.

We had a great time today at Grandma Jo's and Uncle Jerry's.  Thanks for having an End of Summer get together.  It was so great seeing everyone.  My girls only got out of the boat long enough to eat.  Otherwise they were in the boat or on a tube going around the lake.  All the kids were doing the same thing.  It was so fun.

Ella couldn't wait to get on the tube.  As soon as we got there, the girls changed into suits and life jackets and down to the lake they went.  I heard the words "tube" "me too" and I told my dad I have to go on the boat.  Both girls got on Big Marble with Shelby and we were off.  Big Mable is really big and the girls were bouncing and smiling.  And then there went Ella, right off the tube into the lake.  Yes - she did.

Shelby tried to catch her but had be careful so Elizabeth didn't fall out too.

Uncle Jerry brought the boat around really fast and we could hear Ella crying but then she stopped.  She got pulled into the boat and looked a little upset but then she said "That was Awesome"  "Did you see my somersault Mom?"  "I saw sea shells when I went in"  And right back on the tube she went!

Great job Ella.  It was ok to cry but you saw right away that Uncle Jerry was coming to get you and you had your life jacket on so you were just fine.  She went tubing many more times today as did Elizabeth.  They had a blast.  I had them take a shower and put their pjs on before we left for home.  They were in bed by 8 and I think Elizabeth was asleep by 8:30.

This is how the girls looked on the drive TO Elk River.  I didn't get any pictures on the tubes or boat because my camera doesn't do action shots very well.

Updated September 6th.  Thanks Shelby for posting these pictures to Facebook... LOVE THEM

Good luck Elizabeth and Ella! Hopefully Tess will be right there with you next year!
