Last night Elizabeth started back at Piano. She loves playing and has an amazing memory for the songs she knows.
I got to school before the class started so Ella and I were able to sit in while Elizabeth and Lou had their lesson. Lou knows the right way to push Elizabeth and it was fun watching them. Elizabeth has a tendency to say "I can't do that - it's too hard" when really she can. But Lou lets her play the song the easy way and then asks Elizabeth to show her the hardest thing she can do. And that is when Elizabeth shows she can play a song with both hands from memory.
I think Elizabeth is going to make some great strides in Piano this year. I guess I better get our upright tuned so it sounds prettier.
We have also been making a better effort at reading and its showing in Elizabeth's skills. She was struggling last year with English reading but I think she is starting to catch up. She can read Chinese like no buddies business but was feeling really bad that she couldn't read English. That is normal with an Immersion school but I should have made sure we were reading more. Now we are so she will be fine.
