WELCOME HOME DEB and SOPHIE!!!!
The girls and I joined our single mom friends and met the latest addition to the group at the Airport. Deb and Sophie got home about 6:30 pm so it was perfect. Sophie is wonderful and I can't wait to get to know her more. Deb is a great Mom already. She had waited over 4 and a half years for her daughter. Now they are settling in at home and enjoying each other completely.
Welcome Home Deb and Sophie!
Here is Zoe, she came home with her mom Kami a few months ago. We were not able to make it to the airport to greet them but really enjoy little Zoe
This is Ella's favorite way to pose these days. :-)
Saturday
We all did a fund raising walk for PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). My dear friend Reenie was diagnosed with that disease a couple of years ago. She is doing great which is wonderful. We all decided it would be nice to participate in the walk to raise money for a cure. It was a wonderful Saturday in Minnesota and the walk was 2 miles around a beautiful lake. They are still accepting donations until Wednesday. If you want to, please click here and add to the total for Reens Team. Let us know if you want to join us on the walk next year. We are thinking of team names too. Reenie nixed my first suggestion. Reens Rainbows. LOL
Ella and Reenie and Deanna at the beginning of the walk. Elizabeth had already scootered ahead.
At the end of the walk they asked the girls to draw a name for the free t shirt. Katie Rose went up on stage with them.
The three pictures below are from Katie Rose. Thanks!
Yes, Katie was very kind to carry Ella part of the way. You can also see a little of Elizabeth's Scooter. I think Reenie is pushing it. But Elizabeth rode it for 80% of the walk.
Here is everyone that walked on Reens Team. Hope we can double that next year.
Reenie and Katie Rose. Isn't family great?
The girls and I then met up with friends at a Fall Festival at Bachmans. The girls got to make scarecrows and do a mini scavenger hunt. Elizabeth got some seeds for her prize. The best part was going to Holly's house after. Its always a great time hanging out with the families from Elizabeth's travel group. Holly had crafts and a fun scavenger hunt as well.
Then home to visit with my brother Jim who was in town for his High School Reunion. He had spent the afternoon with Dad and was staying over with us before heading back home. It was a nice visit Jim. Ella used to call him Uncle Him but now she says it right. I miss the old name. :-)
Sunday
We met Dad for church and visited with him some. Then we went home and I tried to take a nap. But,t he girls were having too much fun playing house/barbies/babies to be quiet. So, when Ella got tired, Elizabeth and I went out and did yard work. She was a great helper. We trimmed our plants, cut down the long grass next to the fence and swept and bagged it all up. Then Elizabeth went in to watch TV and I cleaned the garage. It feels good to have it all done. As a reward for her hard work I told her we would order dinner... she picked Chinese and it was delicious. We all went to be early and even I was asleep by 8:30.
Have a great week!
