Our family party for Ella's 6th birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Last year we had it at Dad's place and decided to have it at home this year. It turns out we should have stuck to the plan. Kevin brought Dad over after church and we had a nice visit with Dad. Kevin was working the Sportsmans show in Mpls so he couldn't stay long. Right before he left, Dad's Parkingson's kicked in and made the day tough for Dad. He fought it as long as he could but he asked if I could take him home early. I gave Reenie a call and she came over to sit with the girls and be there to let the other family members in when they got there.
Thanks Reenie - I was able to bring Dad home and didn't miss much of the party. Grandma Jo, Uncle Jerry, Uncle Jere and Kathy were all there when I got back. So was Reenie and Cindy. Thanks to you all for celebrating Ella's day with us. And thanks to you that went and visited Dad after the party. I know he appreciated it as do we.
Uncle Jere and his girlfriend Kathy were so nice. They both took turns outside with Ella helping her learn how to ride her bike! Thanks Unc. I love being your "favorite niece" LOL
Notice Ella's hair is back in a pony tail. No accidents like last year.
A few days later I let Elizabeth open the mail - Tickets to Big Time Rush. She was very excited and I can't wait until the State Fair so the three of us can go together.
On Saturday April 16th Ella's K class from school were asked to perform their dance from a school performance as part of "Passage to China" being held at the Mall of America. Here Elizabeth is helping Ella get into her outfit. What a nice big sister you are. It was nice for me to just sit and relax.
Ella ready and raring to go.
Ella was anxious to get on stage. Here she is watching the act before theirs.
Some of the K1 class. They all did so well it was great to watch.
Here is Mikaela W. The W family are dear friends of ours and we are so glad that Mikaela's 1st grade class was performing at MOA too that day!
And we couldn't believe it. The act after the Yinghua sets was a family Kung Fu set. This woman was Elizabeth's Kindergarten teacher and it was so nice seeing her and her family.
After the MOA performance, we did some shopping for an upcoming trip of ours. And the girls even got to go on rides with the W's after some lunch. We left MOA about 5 to meet up at Julie's house for a SAMs (Single Adoptive Moms) group for a fun fun get together. Thanks for a great time Julie! Both my girls had a blast playing and searching for eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt. I enjoyed visiting with the moms - always nice.
