Things I learned from my daughters

Yesterday I pulled the girls out of school so they could go with me to Sister Isadore's Funeral.  Sister was my Great Aunt and the last my Grandmother's siblings still with us.  Sister died one month shy of her 100th birthday.

The girls had bonded with Sister and I felt it was important to bring them with.  It went well.   We had lots and lots of talk about being sad and about the blessings Sister had all her life.  When we walked into Bethany, Ella picked a yellow Dandelion.  She wanted to put the flower in Sister's casket.  I had her put it in the bouquet of yellow roses on top.   Ella taught me that simple honors are as deep as any other.

When Elizabeth heard about Sister's passing she asked me where Sister's paintings were going to go.  She then told me Sister was an artist.  I didn't remember that.  Elizabeth taught me to pay attention to everyone's gifts.  Elizabeth also asked Grandma Jo about the paintings and both girls were able to pick one.  They will be hung with honor in their rooms.

Thank you Sister.  God Bless you !

Your girls learned those things from YOU. It's hard to take credit for things when you're a busy mother. I know your girls follow your wonderful example and are influenced by good people like Sister Isadore. I'm sorry for your loss.
