So, Saturday the girls were invited to a birthday party together and I had two hours by myself. So, I started a new book and enjoyed some time alone. When I picked the girls up they asked if Sydney could spend the night. After checking with Syd's Mom (our old Day Care provider) it was a go.
They played and played Saturday evening until I said I had to go to bed... at 9pm. So, Syd and Elizabeth watched a movie in Elizabeth's room and Ella went to bed with me. She wanted to go watch with "the girls" but I would not let her...she was as tired as me and actually fell asleep first.
Sunday we had a nice easy lazy morning. Then all three girls continued the play time they had started the evening before. I didn't catch on until then then that the play was "we are pretending we are going to China to adopt a baby, MOM" I didn't want to cut the mojo short by taking pictures but they had all the dress up costumes on and plenty of imagination going around with strollers and baby dolls. But, you know, I don't recall wearing a long hot pink Diva type gown when I picked up my girls. They also had on mermaid costumes and a pink sparkly scarf. So, if you are planning a trip to adopt soon - please feel free to use those clothing options.
After Syd was picked up, my girls watched a movie while I finished the book I started on Saturday. I have not done that since I had kids. I still read alot but never spent a whole day reading. That was before the Mom Responsibilities took hold. But, I really liked the book and decided to ignore my "to-do" list this one time.
And then the girls came up and asked if I could watch the second movie with them. As soon as I got their ok to not get mad if I fell asleep and "napped" we all cuddled in downstairs and watched a cute movie. I only slept for about 30 minutes of it too.
Nice Quiet Weekend. Loved Every Minute.

Joan, I didn't wear a long gown or a mermaid costume in China either. :-) I love hearing about your girls and their creative play.
I have to ask--what book did you start and finish this weekend? It sounds like a good read.
No wonder the locals looked at me funny in China. I wasn't dressed right.
