Shopping

Boy did we have fun today.

We went to breakfast at one of my Favsss Louisanna Cafe on Selby

It was very good.  Even though Ella dropped her box of beads all over while we were waiting for a table.  The nice family in front of us along with a few people in booths helped us pick them up.  I had been unaware up until the time the beads fell that Ella had brought her box in with us.  :-)

From there we went to Ikea.  We are redoing the bedrooms.  We had found a full size bed for each of the girls at another furniture store but we wanted to check Ikea.  The other one wins still. And luckily there is a decent sale so we will be ordering it soon for both girls' rooms.

And major painting will be taking place.  Pink for Ella and blue for Elizabeth.

From Ikea we went to the MOA.   The girls had earned a reward with their good attitude about going to the daycare I picked.  So I had some gift card points at Disney and they each picked out a new toy.  We also stopped at the American Girl store so they could get their dolls dolled up in the beauty shop.  And then we stopped at Claire's and Elizabeth got her ears pierced.... third time is a charm I hope.  She was 5 the first time... those didn't last long.  Then at 7 she tried again... didn't like the care of them.  Now at 10 maybe this is the trick.  Ella said no... because it meant blood.  It doesn't mean blood but that is what she thought.  I am ok with it... helping one maintain newly pierced ears at a time is fine with me.

While driving home Elizabeth asked if my Mom's place was near the airport.  Yes, that is her cemetery... She is near the Mall of America then Mom!  That led me to wonder if my Mom liked shopping.  I told the girls I don't have any memories of shopping with my mom.  Ella said, we have lots with you though mom... and I agreed... we love shopping.

I don't say this comments to make my kids feel sad for me but to let them know that they can talk about their first families and we can talk about it all.

So... if anyone wants to help paint - give me a call.  ;-)

When we got home, I napped...LOL and then we went through the closet to see what uniforms still fit.  Elizabeth started with a bunch but after removing the shirts that won't past muster with the newly enforced dress code warnings and the pants she had outgrown, she is down to 2 pants.  Ella has a bunch of skirts and they both have shirts that qualify.  Elizabeth also has a couple skirts as well.  We have tried and tried to find pants but are not having much luck.  Can't have leggings anymore and the yoga pants are too too long as are the black chino pants at Old Navy.  We will keep looking.  Thankfully they can wear the black skirts for now.
